Sometimes you daydream about a few hours alone and the freedom to do anything you want without a child needing you.

About Sarah W.

When I started homeschooling I didn’t think it would be this hard.

I found the perfect curriculum my kids would love. I planned to finish our schoolwork quickly and spend the afternoons exploring the wonders of nature or snuggling on the sofa reading.

Instead we spent hours on the not-so-perfect curriculum, leaving little time for fun. There were tears over spelling and trying one math curriculum after another.

Soon my homeschool ideals lay in shattered pieces on my dirty kitchen floor along with the remnants of my toddler’s breakfast.

Finally, I told myself if we were zoned for a good school, I was enrolling my kids. We weren’t. So I started looking better ways to make homeschooling work. What I discovered was a mindset shift and a set of guiding principles that changed everything.

Now I’m confident I’m enough, even when the house is messy or school-time isn’t smooth.

Homeschooling has become a gratifying, life-giving adventure for all of us and it can be for you too!
